The dresses came about following a commission from Ella for an alternative

cover-up to the wrap skirt.

HANDMADE TO ORDER

Since the dresses will be handmade, they can be tailored to the dancer's requirements: Longer, shorter, bigger on top, bigger on the bottom...

I really enjoyed researching into vintage dancewear for these dresses. Ballet style and fashion are truly fascinating.

Inspiration

the flattering necklines introduced in the '50s

vintage Royal Academy and Checcetti sewing patterns

It has been a great opportunity during lockdown to collaborate with @fredasilk on a collection of dresses; an alternative cover-up to a ballet skirt.

The dresses are so comfortable, the mesh fabric is light and stretchy and does not restrict movement; perfect in the studio and to wear on a shoot.
